Just happened onto your blog, sounds like a nice trip. Keep taking lots of photos - I wish it was me. We were in Moab two years ago and had a great time but... we went in the spring when it was not so hot. If you like adventure find Sheffer Pass (spelling) it passes down the river and under Dead Horse Point then up some switchbacks and back around to the top of Dead Horse Point. You need a high clearace truck or SUV.
