Dead horse state park
Today we visited Dead horse State Park. It's a relatively small park, but legend has it that cowboys would herd wild horses into the blind canyon, choose the ones they wanted and then release the rest. However it seems, one time they forgot or didn't release the rest and they died of thirst, all within sight of the Colorado river. Very sad.
We also saw some Indian carvings that were done sometime between 600 and 1300 AD.e Very cool! In the same area we also saw lots of rock climbers.....of course they are all pretty young!! The photo I've posted is a girl.

Rafting the Colorado river
Yesterday we took a half day rafting trip down the Colorado river. Another beautiful day in the desert. We went over some pretty mild rapids and had a great afternoon. The photos don't do justice to the beauty here, but at least you can get some sense of the place. Lots of rocks, buttes and interesting stuff to see.
